Meh. If you like really, really slow burns this might be your book?
The middle of the book just dragged on.
Some of the repetition Klune uses is, I think, meant to sound poetic & to creat a sense of longing. IMO, it isn't well executed because the words used sound like those an Elementary school kid would have chosen. For example, instead of using "exclaimed", or "shouted", or any other word to spice up dialogue, Klune uses "said".
The characters really just hung around being sad ALL THE TIME. S ...more
