I love Jasper Fforde and I have read this book before but don't seem to have it on my GR shelf. This book follows the adventures of Thursday next who exists both inside and outside the book world environment of her novels. In the real world is an investigative agent for Jurisfication, within book world she is played by other "Thursdays" who act her role for the benefit of readers. The trouble is that Thursday is missing - the other trouble is that nobody is sure whether it is the "real" Thursday

The latest in the Thursday Next series. This one felt like a bit of a let down. There were some fairly major changes from the previous books. Bookworld gets a makeover. The story follows the written Thursday Next, as she stumbles about doing her best to investigate some suspicious circumstances while the real Thursday is conspicuously absent.

I really enjoy this series. I read this one on my kindle rather than listening to the audio version, which is a change from how I've read most of the recent books. The wordplay and literary references are clever and this book took place largely in the Book World, which I enjoy more than the parallel real world in this series. I missed the real Thursday Next as this book focused mostly on the written Book World counterpart, but there were some great scenes in this book. This is a series that real
