I thought this latest book in the Sookie Stackhouse series was in keeping with the other books as being highly entertaining and satisfying. I love Sookie being with Eric and how his love for her softens him a bit, but I have my suspicions (with some possible foreshadowing from the book) that it won't last forever. Hope I'm wrong. The fae relations of Sookie and the vamp relations of Eric and Bill were all a great part of this book, with some satisfying resolutions. Eric's little "brother" is cer

This book follows the pattern of the other books in this series, and I raced through it. One gripe I have with the author-I get tired of the over-explaining. Seriously, who is going to start reading at number 10 in a series, and need all those explanations and reiterations of previous chunks of story? If you took all those out, the book would be about half the size, and that's how this one feels:as if there are some interesting plot bits sandwiched between repeat bits. I think that Harris should

Total bonus...I've been on the wait list at my local library for almost two months for this (still on there!) I popped in to one of the local libraries near my parents house today with my Dad (I had been checking online at the three libraries up there & no copies available for the last month.) We had been passing by a lot and always seeing this "book sale" sign and, well, we cannot resist a book sale. Come to find out the "book sale" is ongoing and is actually a whole separate little house fille

Yet another amazing book in the continuing series of Sookie Stackhouse!
Sookie is recovering from the torture she endured during the fae war both physically and mentally. She is trying to come to terms with all the death that has surrounded her, friends and family that she lost during that horrible time. To top it all off the relationship between her and Eric gets a little side tracked when Eric’s maker comes to town seeking some help from Eric to deal with another one of his children. I am reluctantly addicted to this series. I keep waiting/hoping that Bill and Sookie will get back together, but it's becoming obvious that it will not happen. There's more and more Eric and more and more people die. But I keep reading. In fact, if Bill and Sookie ever did get back together, I'd probably stop reading, afraid of what else might happen to them. For now, I remain a reluctant fan of the series and look forward to the next installment.

If I look at this book objectively I have to admit that nothing really happened here. Harris brought in some new characters to create stress for Sookie and then they kind of go away. I don't know how much more there is to tell about Sookie-it might be time to wrap it up. That said, I still enjoy Sookie as a character and I was happy to be spending time with her again. The stories are not what they used to be but I still enjoyed the book in the end.

I think I devoured this book, I thought it was great.

I feel pretty lukewarm about this Sookie installment.
Picking up pretty much from where the last book ended, Sookie is trying to recover from the torture she had experienced and dealing with the loss of several people. In this story, we get vampire, weres and fae stories woven throughout the storyline, but it feels like a filler before the next book. Pretty meandering, in my opinion.

This was just an ok book in the series. I liked learning more about Eric and Bill and the vampires. I liked the were storyline, but for some reason Sookie got on my nerves during this book. Not sure why. I think she used this book to set up for the next one, hopefully. I still enjoyed it because I love Bon Temps anyways.
