This book was okay, but it didn't grab me like it has some other people. The format was definitely different than what I'm used to, and I liked that. I liked how the words were tied to memories, and the memories told the story. The story seemed to jump around a lot, but this didn't really bother me. This book is funny, real, and poignant. It's the story of a relationship told in alphabetical dictionary entries. But the entries,(although alphabetical), are not chronological.Clever format, but more than that it reads like poetry.
Word for word it probably isn't worth the money you pay for a book-each page has only one entry and some of them are really short, but that causes the reader to pause and think a little while the eyes scan on to the next page for the next entry.

This book is organized as a dictionary, but the definitions of the various words combine to paint a story of a relationship. The lover is never named, his/her gender never specified. I read it at one sitting, but I found so many little tidbits to go back and re-read later that I ran out of bookmarks!
