First, I really like Greg Iles as an author. I have read several of his books and they are great. They definitely go into dark places. Murder, sex, gore...all a big part of his plot. However, the thing I like about his writing is the suspense and the action which keep me riveted and reading for long periods of time.

Shelves: fiction, mystery
This book becomes more engrossing as it progresses. It's a fast-paced, complex mystery, with computer sex forming the foundation of the plot. But what is really fascinating through the entire book is first person protagonist Harper Cole -- how he deals with the situation he's trapped in, and how he deals with it. The other characters are much weaker, foils for Cole than important in their own right. But the story is a good one, and worth reading. ...more
