Another page turner from Jim Butcher. This one's got a little of everything. Tavi is at the Academy and his story is full of palace intrigue with a little bit coming of age, Bernard and Amara are involved in bigger battle with a creepy new enemy and Isana is also caught up in a world of intrigue and politics and dangerous cocktail parties. I'm really sucked into this world and the story and am looking forward to reading the next one.

I'm really, really enjoying these. Such good tension throughout as all the characters battle through (usually literally), and enough of a clue in the story to get you guessing at what is to be revealed without giving it all away completely.
I'm listening to the audiobooks and the narrator, Kate Reading, is brilliant. I highly recommend her. 5 stars for her and 4.5 for the book. ...more
