What Members Thought

I know once I start a Jim Butcher book I won't come up for air until it's finished. Although Dresden is probably more in my wheel house I'm loving the Alera series as well. Nothing revolutionary here, it's firmly in the "farmboy finds out he has a Destiny" mold but it's fun, the characters are interesting and you care about them. The Cane and their culture have a bigger role in this one and being a dog lover I of course loved all the descriptions of how they communicated both with words and body

This one seemed a lot slower than the rest and I have to admit I got a bit bored. There were the same battles as the previous books but it just didn't seem to have the urgency or the excitement. Glad to get it finished and hoping that the last one in the series is better and as good as the first ones.
