I enjoyed this a lot. It had a few cliches but overall it felt fresh and definitely had a few surprises. I loved the supporting characters almost as much as the main ones and am looking forward to the next book already.

Finally finished this! I found some things were predictable, but I liked that we have a platonic female and male friendship, a great and well developed world, and amazing characters. This took me so long to read, but oh boy was it worth it. I can’t give it 5 * because it took me so long to get into and Corwin was annoying at points, but the end made up for it. I’ll read the sequel when it comes along, but in my mind this works perfectly well as a stand-alone. There’s no cliffhanger or anything, ...more

This book was just WOW! I did have some troubles getting into it but in the end, I’m glad that I continued reading it! First of all the world building was amazing. I really enjoyed this book, even though it was a bit of a slow book for me (due to time more than anything). This book felt like a mix of Dungeons and Dragons and Game of Thrones - a mythical adventure filled with magic, dragons and plenty of twists and turns!

I enjoyed the characters of Kate and Corwin and the changes of POV, as it showed a lot of character conflicts which was really interesting! I liked the mystery, the threat of the nightdrakes and daydrakes and how the story built up.

4/5 ⭐️

This was a very nice read. I love the idea of wilder and mage magic clashing and the several forms of wilder magic. I got the hydrist sticker in my Fairyloot box 💦 The ending was very exiting and surprised me. The next book in this series will be on my to read list for next year for sure!
