This is an entertaining book, in the way that all popular science books can be entertaining. The stories are good, the scope is vast, it's Cosmos in book form.
I wish someone had prepared me for how US-centric the book was though. It's pretty obviously written exclusively for American audiences, to the point that the analogies and hyperboles used are almost meaningless to people who didn't grow up in the USA. It got very annoying. Why hasn't this been rewritten for a global audience? ...more
