Again, read this in April, don't remember as well as I should. PSA: Always write your reviews within a week of finishing the book! It doesn't end well otherwise! (Writing this mostly for future Ashley, who insists on being a total asshole in this regard.)

I love this graphic novel series so much. I first discovered the webcomic version in 2019 and ate it up. I was actually supposed to see Ngozi Ukazu at a con the week everything shut down in 2020. Whenever I need a warm and fuzzy boost, I pull this series out. Not that everything in it is sunshine and light, but it's one of those stories where you know the angst will be worth it in the end. This time around Ukazu is heavy on relationship status and less focus on hockey. Bitty and Jack now have a relationship that is never totally fleshed out but is presented with the "highlights." While a good way to introduce a GLBTQ+ relationship in sports, there were moments that felt forced. However, overall, this book was decent but is not as strong as the first book. I found the extras are interesting (tweets by Bitty, extra comics, and more).
