Medium-well. I really liked Isabel. Ethan was a bit of a cad at times. I can't see where all the mixed romance lines are headed (they're almost braided together, knotted in places, and sometimes severed)--but I mention this as a good thing. If it were too predictable (which it can be in spots) I'd have to take away a star. I think the beginning is a bit misleading. Definitely will read the rest of the trilogy (maybe even this week!) ...more

I enjoyed this adventurous young adult book. It was a clean well written fantasy. Some of the magic seemed a little far fetched for me but it didn't detract from the story too much.

To quickly summarize it is about a secret group that protects earth by traveling to the past to ensure history remains the same. I would recommend it to YA on up and will plan on reading the rest of the trilogy as well. ...more

Present tense! Ugh - I know some great books are written in present tense, but I'm having such a hard time concentrating on the story because I keep reading it half in present tense half in past tense as I unconsciously try changing the tense as I read. ...more
