This is the first book in the Rachel Morgan series which (after Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Underworld) was one of the first paranormal series I really started to follow. I loved this book and it launched me into a series I am slowly but surely getting read. :)
Revisiting this book in a reread was amazing. I forgot how action packed and full of amazing characters this book is! So excited to keep rereading and then continuing on with the rest of the series. :) Also, I just love Jenks so much. And a sexy man librarian named Nick isn't so bad either. ;) ...more

Since this is the first book in the series there is a lot of character introduction, plot explanation etc... so it moves a little slower than the rest of the series, but don't give up. You will soon be introduced to Kisten (the sexiest vampire alive) and it will be well worth it!!!!!

So far so good - not as good as some - but better than Anita Blake - as far as I think. Not as much into the vamps as into all kinds of fantasy creatures. Am in the middle and it's good so far!
