I honestly don't understand what the fuss is about this book. I had a very hard time finishing it. The characters annoyed me and the plot was just uninteresting to me. Sometimes the books are so beautifully written that you just overlook all of the above but this one was just not.

I liked this book a lot. I liked the pacing. I liked characters. I liked the bits of philosophy and religion to try and make sense of unanswered questions - both abstract and real.
(was I the only one who pictured Alex Karev from Grey's Anatomy as The Colonel?)
YA books aren't my favorite but these characters were less cartoony and cliche than typical YA books.
