"How long did it take for a past to die?"
I think this is a wonderful example of how a book got the story oh so right. And the movie got it oh so wrong. It's hard to believe the movie and the book are even the same thing.

I read this for Zombie Class as it was a major influence on Romero's work and I enjoyed it and its detailed accounting of how the main character had adapted to the new reality and how he spent his time. It deserves to be a classic in the horror genre and it is also an interesting study in functional depression.

Wow what a read.. Like many I watched the movie and love it. I figure I would like the book. And I did as it vastly different then the movie and haunting and sad. A very good read.
