The movie did not do this book justice. Throughout the entire book, you're learning so much more about a way of life, about being that water as it flows over everything and perseveres, about just being happy in life no matter what. I liked this book a lot, even though there were controversies over whether the book did a good job on accurately portraying Geishas of Japan.

The history behind Geishas is quite impressive, and this book is proof that Arthur Golden did extensive research on Geishas prior to writing this book.
