An interesting thriller with a twist that I did not see coming. (No spoilers here) There are essentially two main characters: Theo Faber, a psychotherapist, and Alicia Berenson, an artist in a mental institution for killing her husband. Theo has in interest in Alicia, who has been completely silent for the 6 years following the murder of her husband, and begins therapy with her. Alicia's story is told completely through her diary entries - her only voice through almost all of the novel.
