The Cartographers is a quasi-thriller with a big dose of sci-fi. It’s the story of Nell Young, daughter of Dr. Daniel Young, who dies at the start of the book. Nell hasn’t spoken to her father since he got her fired at the NYPL over a map from a box labeled junk. What Nell, along with several of her parents’ cartographer buddies and her ex boyfriend, manages to find is something both old fashioned and beyond belief. I enjoyed the book immensely and raced through it.
