I really liked this movie, but was less impressed with the book. The story is pretty much the same, but told from Pat's journal entries, which give the story a young adult feel.

Liked the book better than the movie!
Great book! Now I can watch the movie:)
strangely compelling...weird characters really sucked me into finding out the *mysteries* they were hiding. I wasn't curious about the movie, but now it makes me want to watch the movie to see how they translated the book onto screen.

I don't think I ever would have thought to pick up this book and read it if I hadn't loved the movie so much. So I read it, and was done in 2 days. Quick wrote a beautiful book that flowed so well, I was sad when it ended. You'd have to have a heart of stone not to root for Pat, and feel the childlike love that he feels, experience football the way a true fan does, and see the silver lining behind every cloud. I loved immersing myself in this novel, and highly recommend it to everyone who wants
