I LOVED this book. I loved the brilliant kids who played the game and Ender as a character. I will say, the ending got me good.

I'm not usually a science-fiction person, but this is one my husband's favorite books so I picked it up. I was surprised to find that I had trouble putting it down. Yes, it's sci-fi, but it's also more than that; it's a great story. It was thought-provoking and I am now anxious to see where the rest of the series goes.

This was compelling and heartbreaking. Maybe it was the young age of Ender and the closeness in age to my own. It was good to see Ender's evolution and maturation, despite the influence of the adults around him. Despite the bleakness of the human condition, it was hopeful to see the characters cling and fight for some semblance of absolute goodness in themselves and their actions, to make the most of their ill-advised/guided actions.
