It took me forever, but I finally finished it! I had a very hard time with this book on my first go-round: the first canto was very interesting, but much longer than it needed to be in my opinion; Simmon's descriptions are beautiful, but excessive; and his action scenes are simply dull, no emotion what so ever. So I stopped reading for a few months, realizing I was in no mood for any of that.

I honestly didn't think i was going to like it that much, i guess i had a completely different idea of what it was all about. But right of the start, this book did the job right.
The thing is, when you start to listen to the stories, there's no going back. You will get dragged into hyperion in a blink of an eye.
