This book was so not what I was expecting! I was expecting the vampires and the witches and a bit of mystery as Sam takes over the detective agency. What I didn't expect was the wonderful humour which was in bucketfuls!
Poor Sam, surrounded by talking gargoyles and mind-reading vampires, placed under love spells, taking jobs from werewolves and propositioned by other paranormals - things just weren't working out the way he intented them.

I just loved it. So many paranormals. Nice story.

3.5 stars
This was a cute, short story. I think my biggest issue with it was the amount of stuff that just gets rammed into the book. There wasn’t enough time to deal with it all. Still I think the authors did a good job of bringing the first book to a satisfactory conclusion.
Sam starts up his own detective agency when his uncle dies and leaves him a building. Sam use to sell books and thinks it will be no problem starting up a detective agency and being successful. (Naïve much!) He is determine ...more

I loved it! The book is about a PI named Sam who has to solve some mysteries but the book was like one big one. You find out things right along with Sam, Bob and everyone else in his life. I'm ready to read the second book ;-) A very great start to a series.

Excellent start to a new series! I was very intrigued by the characters and story line and definitely will follow the rest of the books! Can't wait!! I really like Sam getting involved with the clients and the new world that's knocking on his door...

I read this book on holiday and loved it. I loved Sam the most, poor deluded Sam who only wants to work for humans but finds himself beset by paranormal creatures at every turn. Bob is brilliant as the vampire who decides Sam is his mate. The plot is easy to follow but full of twists and turns, very intriguing, I can't wait to see where it leads. It's full of interesting secondary characters, including a great ghost that lives in Sam's home. The characters, the quirkiness, the plot. It was a bla

This is a review of both titles in this series: I don't think I've ever read a book with a more imaginitive plot. I felt sympathy for Sam, being stuck in a house with the most clingy group of supernaturals you'd ever meet, but he holds his own and deftly handles each new resident in his ever-expanding boarding house with power from within that no one as yet understands. Sam's reactions to each characters' quirks are priceless, and their reactions to him are equally amusing. I certainly hope that
