The endgame couple had absolutely no chemistry and I spent large portion of the book thinking (and wishing) the MC wold end up with another guy who was much better.

Honestly, the romance aspect of this book ruined even the very little I might have (slightly) enjoyed otherwise. I didn't have anything against the love interest as a character overall, I just hated the romance he had with the MC. And that didn't change by the end of the book.

I actually thought the book would be about something else than it turned out to be, namely (view spoiler) I thought he was ok as a character, but definitely did not appreciate him as a love interest.

I did not like the MC either. Didn't hate her quite as much as the one from Lucky in Love, alias: the most hateable heroine of all West's books, but she was kind fo bland.
Absolutely everyone in her life told her what an amazing artist she is and therefore when she was met with rejection she just turned out to be insuffrable to me. There were so many examples of when she acted so childishly, or just whiny that I don't even want to bother with naming all of them. Her cutesy art skills semmed unbelievably fake to me as well.

The only character I did somewhat like was the MC's grandfather. Otherwise, nope.

Overall: Dull, one dimensional, badly done romance, potential that wasn't met, bland MC. I was a bit tempted to give it 2 stars instead, just because it's pretty fast, undemanding read, and because I didn't completely despise it, but in the end I just wasn't enjoying it at all. ...more

This was my first Kasie West book and OMG, I was so hyped about her. I wanted to read one of her books since Pivot Point but uhm... here we are! Love, Life, and the List was a fast read for me. I flew through it in a day. Story might sound like a cliché and well, in some ways it really is. We have an artist MC whose hopes for this art show get crushed. Then her BFF, who she is in love with. So she makes a list to give her art more depth.

Nebudem klamať keď poviem, že som sa bavila. Síce som nebola z toho odviazaná a nebude patriť medzi moje milované no stojí za prečítanie. Abby i Cooper sú fajn postavy a skvele sa dopĺňajú. Abby a jej deda s ich nekonečnou zásobou sarkazmu ma vskutku neprestávali baviť. Nebolo to tak presladené ako vačšinou očákávame pri takomto druhu kníh a to bolo obrovské plus. Neviem si však predstaviť čo autorka ešte vymyslela do ďalších dvoch kníh tak aby tomu neuškodila. Keby bolo na mne pridám k prvej zo ...more

Tohle se mi hodnotí vážně špatně. Vím, že nejsem cílovka. To mi došlo během prvních pár stran. Jsem zvyklá na trochu komplikovanější literaturu, ale chtěla jsem vědět, co všichni na té West mají.

Nevím, jestli to navazuje na autorčina předchozí díla; strašně jsem se ztrácela v ději i v postavách, tohle autorka vůbec nevysvětlovala. Spousta dialogů nemá doplnění, takže mi dlouho trvalo zjistit, kdo co říká. A někde v půlce se mi přestalo líbit, kam ta kniha směřuje. Doufala jsem v nějaký lásk ...more

This was just bad. The romance didn't work. At all. And I didn't think the guy would fall for the girl in the end, which would be great and make it a better story. But (view spoiler)
So no. Didn't like it.

Can somebody recommend some light YA read for me? It's been difficult to concentrate lately and I really need something better. :D ...more

Přesně takovou nenáročnou slaďárnu jsem teď potřebovala. Už jsem předtím od Kasie četla By Your Side a tohle se mi asi líbilo o něco víc, hlavně proto, že jsem si zamilovala jak Abby, Tak Coopera. A hlavně Abbyina dědečka. Sice některé věci na konci nebyly úplně dořešené, ale jinak to je výborná kniha.

Awww, teď jsem si zase doplnila dávku roztomilosti♥ Kasie je jedna z těch YA contemporary jistot, kdy prostě vždycky dostanete to, co čekáte - nenáročnou teen romance, která vás skvěle odreaguje a nechá ve vás ten krásný feel good pocit. Rozhodně skvělé čtení na svaťák (a i tak jsem vždycky stihla jen pár kapitol tu chvilku v noci). Navíc příběh o tom, jak se z nejlepších kamarádů stává pár je vždycky dobrá volba, alespoň u mě. Vedle toho je kniha prostoupena uměním, létem!! a částečně se dotýká ...more
