All The Crooked Saints turned out to be quite different than I thought it would be. And definitely not in a bad way. Truth is, I never know just what to expect from Maggie Stiefvater's books. Besides her amazing writing that is. Wow! This was one of the most original and beautiful books I have ever read! Maggie Stiefvater is a Saint and she performed a true Miracle.
All the Crooked Saints is about Saints and Miracles. But more than anything, it is about people and overcoming obstacles. I loved how magical the whole book was and how you can basically take any sentence and it would be a perfect quote.

All the Crooked Saints je za mě rozhodně nejlepší kniha, co Maggie zatím napsala, a také horký kandidát na úplně nejlepší knihu roku.
Je to hodně typická Maggie Stiefvater, ale zároveň Maggie, jak jsme ji ještě neviděli. Jsem si dost jistá, že jestli se vám líbí Havraní cyklus, bude se vám líbit i tohle. Každopádně jestli jste už unavení tím, jak jsou všechny young adult romány na jedno brdo, tak si tohle přečtěte, protože odlišnější knížka tu už dlouho nebyla.

Je to hodně typická Maggie Stiefvater, ale zároveň Maggie, jak jsme ji ještě neviděli. Jsem si dost jistá, že jestli se vám líbí Havraní cyklus, bude se vám líbit i tohle. All the Crooked Saints jsem nezačala v úplně nejlepší chvíli, takže mi trvalo zhruba 30 %, než jsem se začetla a začalo mi to ubíhat. Navíc jsem zprvu ani nechápala, jak fungují zázraky a zapomněla jsem, že má jít o magický realismus, takže jsem jenom zírala s otevřenou pusou a říkala si, co se to tam děje xD Naštěstí jsem se z téhle krize dostala rychle, a pak už to byla ta stará Maggie Stiefvater, kterou jsem si zamilovala v Havraním Cyklu. Nechápu kontroverzi, která se po vydání knihy strhla, ale Amerika má prostě své kulturní zvláštnosti. Osobně nevidím na celé věci nic špatného, proto jsem si čtení moc užívala, i když připouštím, že úplně snadno jsem se do příběhu nedostávala. Jde holt o magický realismus a ten je vždy trochu náročnější.
Baví ma jazyk, akým autorka popisuje situácie, jej metafory, personifikácie a zázraky, ktoré idú ruka v ruke s temnotou, ktorú má každý v sebe, ale len zázrak od rodiny Soriovcov ju dokáže zhmotniť tak, aby sa dotyčný pútnik s ňou vedel vysporiadať. Za mňa áno, príjemný závan magického realizmu z púšte, ktorá nedovolí každému, aby si ju zamiloval.
Nejsem si tak docela jistá proč, ale se čtením knihy to bylo následovně:
- 5 stran útrpného mučení, týden naříkání, že to nemám šanci dočíst
- 100 stran během jednoho večera a pokřik, jak moc skvělý to je
-20 stran a dva týdny mučení a naříkání
- 120 stran během dvou večerů
- týden souvislého zírání na knížku s tím, že není absolutní chuť ani síla ji zvednout
- čtení The Cruel Prince, protože na to už prostě kašlete
- dočtení The Cruel Prince a plamenný projev, že když jste zvládli přečíst netvory jako ...more

3.5* (this is exactly the kind of a book where I really hate that we cannot use half stars, this is not 3*, a bit better than that, but not that good for a 4* from me)
I was quite excited to read this book but it wasn´t my cup of tea, surprisingly, as I usually love weird stories and this one was weird. I think my main problem was that the storyline was so weak, nothing really happened in the whole book beside one or two things to the main characters.
