This should really be 4.5 stars. I really loved this book! I can't remember the last time I laughed this hard while reading. However, even though I loved every moment leading up to it, the ending kind of just...trailed off.

Also, as is typical in most YA, the ancillary characters in this book are way more interesting than the main character. Earl totally stole the show! That's not a complaint, just pointing out how the book is!

Good book, but see the movie. Much better.

This book was super weird and painful to read. The author uses a voice of a hyper aware narrator (who makes asides to the reader). There are weird breakouts for play script dialogue and movie descriptions. The narrator is a buffoon and a self absorbed jerk. I kept hoping it would get better but it never did.

Makes me hope I was not this type of teen. The MC constant pity party was too much to bear for 295 pages, but as an exploration of how young people cope with life cycles, it was okay.
