What happened with this one? Really liked the first in the series, loved the second. It feels as if someone else wrote the latter half of the book, the story taking a turn for the ridiculous. Also, in the latter part of the book, the author (a former police officer, I believe?) refers to AR-15s as "guns" and M-16s as "machine guns"? I'm no military / police officer / guns guy, but even I know better than that. I call foul! Ghost writer?

Joe Mckinney is turning into a force to be reckoned with. I read Dead City a year or so ago, and liked it, then recently found out he had 2 more zombie books!
Flesh Eaters takes place before Dead City and Apocalypse of The Dead, the outbreak is just starting. Joe McKinney can write strong women characters, who are still 'human' at the same time.

I liked it. I want more Dead World stories. This book made me evaluate what I would do in some of the situations. I would like to think that I wouldn't be there in the first place, having listened to the evacuation warnings. But I suppose that as cops it was their jobs to stay in place to help. I would really love more details, I crave details when it comes to apocalyptic fiction. I'm happy to have the story of Houston after reading Dead City and Apocalypse of the Dead. Not so patiently waiting
