Now that season two is four episodes deep, I decided it was high time that I read the comic series. For those of you who don't know, the television series deviates greatly from the original graphic novel story. Spoilers aside, some characters don't ever leave the original campsite.

I stepped in this one with caution - meaning, I didn't go out and buy any of The Walking Dead books - because Robert Kirkman storytelling bores the crap out of me. Much like Marvel Zombies, Kirkman takes a brilliant id

This is an excellent start to what I hope will continue to be a really good series. Though the opening of it is not wholey original (I think either 28 days later ripped this story off, or vice versa. How did I not know this series existed? Found out about this only because of the upcoming TV show. Coworker told me to go read it first. So I did. And I'm not disappointed.

Aaaahhhh, zombies. This TPB opens similarly to 28 Days Later wherein the hero wakes up in a hospital after being in a coma for a month. What he discovers upon waking is a world inhabited by zombies with survivors few and far between. An excellent start to the series.

Awesome read about folks trying to survive in a zombie-infested world. Like any good zombie story, this one is about human nature.

I generally won't include comics in my list unless they are spectacular. Which this one is- it really is a graphic novel.
