Wow, what a book. It takes a lot for a book to capture me, touch me and even influence my dreams. The Bell Jar did it. Sylvia Plath did it. The protagonist reminded me of myself, both in the past and in the present. Not to say that I lived through anything comparable to Esther's experiences (because, fortunately, I didn't), but her personality, responses and thoughts felt very natural to me. ...more
