Excellent-so much more than a psychological thriller/mystery! Couldn't put it down, would be a fantastic book club choice. Billie Flanagan's husband and daughter have been grieving for months since she disappeared on a hike. They are almost ready to come to terms with her death when for completely different reasons they both begin to think she may still be alive. Who is completely knowable by anyone else on earth? I wanted to read this book because it was compared to Big Little Lies. After reading it, I don’t think it lives up to that comparison, but it was an enjoyable read.

I loved the unraveling of all the secrets and the twists and turns. The ending is the best.

I did get a little bored in the middle of the book. The portion where the husband, Johnathan is writing his memoir of his wife, Billie did not interest me. There was too much focus on past memories that were not always significant to the story ...more

Kept me guessing until, literally, the last paragraph. Excellent read. These characters will live inside of me for a long long time. It has been years since I quoted a book so often.

I enjoyed this authors writing style. I felt like her descriptions drew pictures for me while not trying to use unnecessarily verbiage. I thought the twists and turns were well thought out and kept me engaged. The epilogue may have been a bit unneeded but to each it’s own. I listened to the story - the reader has a good voice and articulated it well.
