The 1000+ page count seemed daunting at first, but once I started reading the novel, I found it went really quickly. It may not be as strong as some of Haruki Murakami's other works, but it is certainly worth a read. If you aren't familiar with Murakami, be prepared to become immersed simultaneously in the culture of Tokyo, as well as fantastical worlds.
