Fast moving, great characters and a wide perspective of subjectivity make "The Help" a great read. In particular, the book paints a unique look at the hypocrisy of a post-Antebellum South social construct in terms of child-rearing. The path of racism and subjugation is forever changed as the children of those white, Southern households are reared by the black "help." Stockett manifests this juxtaposition in such a way to both highlight the discord of such ideology in these domestic relationships while staying true to the characters.
