The cover is great it does it's job brilliantly. I hate clowns they aren't cute or funny, in fact they give me the shivers and are nightmarish. So when Kent is persuaded to tag along with Uriah to a haunted house, that's when the fun and games start. I have to admit I couldn't help laughing at the spooky creepiness as Kent and Uriah journeyed throughout the house. Clever story and I loved the little surprises, it worked for me. Another cute (hard to believe, given the blurb, I know) freebie story from Kyle. Also hard to believe this whole story plays out in so few pages, yet it never feels rushed or incomplete. It's funny and cute and gory with a few ewwww moments, and I loved how everything falls into place. It was a very enjoyable seasonal story, and I hope to read many more like them from Kyle in the future.

While discussing a Halloween reading challenge with a group I co-moderate on here, I said that I was all for reading Halloween type books with the condition that I not be asked to read anything about clowns. They creep me out. So what happens? Fun free short!
I've read a few of Kyle Adam's shorts and have enjoyed them all!
This one is scary, but not terribly so..but I totally understand Kent, I don't think clowns are fun or cute either, they freak me out!

Once again, I'm sucked into the characters Kyle creates. So real and charming with their smart and quirky personalities and strengths and insecurities. All easily evident in just a few short pages. Kyle needs to quit with that whole real world business and get down to writing more.
