This may sound like a cop-out and I know it won an award, but Love and Other Perishible Items is typical. It seems to me that it is just like every other book about unrequited love. I'm not saying that books like this can't be good or original, I'm saying this book did very little to hold me. I read it and I've already forgotten it.
