This had a little bit of everything with a gothic old mansion as a backdrop. Fast moving and creepy characters.
Much better than her debut novel~The Tale of Halcyon Crane! Don't pass this one up!
This was an AWESOME ghost story/mystery with great twists and turns.Very hard to put down.I would have read it in one sitting if I hadn't become to sleepy to finish,after getting up early yesterday.
Skillful writing drew me into the descriptive scenes,and the characters were very well developed,as well.
No boring slow,spots with this book! Highly recommended for all who love a good clean,non-gory but suspenseful and ...more

I listened to the audiobook production of Wendy Webb’s The Fate of Mercy Alban. Kirsten Potter did a good job with the voice acting of the Blackstone Audio Production. In this, Grace and her teenaged daughter return home after a twenty year absence when Grace’s mother dies under mysterious circumstances. Grace needs to settle the estate, and in so doing, discover much of her family’s rumored-about past.

I loved this book! Wendy Webb has a fantastic way of putting words to the page creating a fun mystery. Did I figure out most of what was going on about halfway through the book? Yes, but finding a good ghost story these days to give you shivers without causing nightmares is hard. It's fun! It's eerie! And it has a few twists that you may not see coming ;)
