I was so disappointed in this book. I am a HUGE Tarryn Fisher fan. I "one-click" every single release of hers. She has a way of writing characters that are so beautifully flawed and relatable that you find a piece of yourself in them. She is also one badass chick on Instagram....you just want to be her! The emotion that she is able to bring to the surface with her writing skills will leave you with a book hangover for weeks. I had serious depression after "Mud Vein" However, I couldn't even find I was so disappointed in this book. I am a HUGE Tarryn Fisher fan. I "one-click" every single release of hers. I had serious depression after "Mud Vein" However, I couldn't even find her in this book. It was just plain awful and I forced myself to read it because I'm such a huge fan of hers. Her fans will rate this high because they love her, but I think it's actually doing her such a huge disservice.

The concept had so much potential....but the execution was just so weak.

There were so many plotholes and things that made no sense at all.

1. How does nobody have STD's with all the sex that is going on?
2. Why if woman are so powerful are they so sex crazed for me?
3. Why if the technology is so advanced have they not figured out a way to save mankind?
4. What happened to all the men? It's briefly explained that there was war, but are the 12 end men the only men living on the planet? There is really no explaining to the back story.
5. She finds out she is pregnant and with a boy after around 2 weeks or so (again not really explained). How can she find out the sex of the baby so early??
6. This book is supposed to be about women empowerment but all the women go crazy for the men and throw themselves at them that they end up looking pathetic.

And then there is the insta-love. Which I hate in books more than anything. No build up of the characters relationship.....she is saying she loves him 100 pages in and only after a couple of encounters with him. I was missing the feels and relationship development between the couple that Tarryn is usually so good at delivering.

I hope Tarryn finds her way back to her writing style that her fans love her for. I honestly think she is one in a million in the book world. I've left so many authors behind because of the smut and emotionless crap they write. This just wasn't her best work, but I think she will surely recover. ...more
