My favourite thing about this book is the photographs. Ransom Riggs, a collector of old photographs, used the images to enhance the story, and while at times I think he added a few plot details in order to use a really creepy or awesome photo, overall they definitely added to the reading experience.

(UPDATE; Right after I finished this book I gave it 4 stars. But when I compared it with the other books I've given 4 stars, it didn't seem fair. Not that this wasn't a nice read but because it simply doesn't compare to the others in the 4 star league. Don't get me wrong though, 3 stars still means "I liked it").
Before I started reading this book I was pretty sure I was going to love it. But around a hundred pages in I felt a bit disappointed. Because to be honest, I struggled a bit with getting ...more
