WHEEEEEW.
WHAT IN THE WORLD.
This is now officially one of my favourite books - what a way to start the year huh, third book turns into EPIC DISCOVERY.
I loved this so so so much, I cannot rememeber what book had me this immersed last (apart from The Hunger Games, obvs).
Amazing, honestly.
I must admit, I'm probably geekier than I thought I was, but this book was like a bookish wish-fulfillment I didn't even know I had a wish for!
(Well, at least that gives me a good reason to wear my Topshop tee with

Now that's some serious fun! Admittedly it wasn't until my second attempt at starting the book that I really sank into it and buckled up for the ride, but once I was in a chapter or two I was flying through.
Super creative, incredibly fresh and perhaps rather original ideas; if not a wholy new concept it was certainly of a nature that I myself have never read before. It was a real treat.
Rather long, however, for such a fast paced story and could have been compressed a wee bit but all im all I ha

Review originally posted on Imogen’s Typewriter.

This book came in my February Loot Crate and I was super excited to read it, unfortunately reality wasn't as good as the hype or my expectations.
Now I was born in the nineties, so my knowledge of the eighties is next to nothing. In fact, I really can't think of anything I watch/read/listen to that comes from the eighties. The references this book made kind of flew over my head rather than making my nostalgic, which I think is the main charm of. I g

Ready Player One was so crazy good. I don’t think I had remembered from the reviews I’d read previously that it was so geeky. Halliday loved the 80s, so all the clues, pop culture references and little quips and nods towards things of a time gone by were geek central, and so wonderful. From Star Wars to Back to the Future, Pacman to Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adams to Monty Python, there’s a little of everything 80s in this book, which, of course, made it that more entertaining to read.

When OASIS creator James Halliday dies the world that worships him and his creation are presented with the ultimate challenge; Halliday has left them an Easter Egg and the one who finds it will win the ultimate prize of fortune and power.

At the beginning of the novel in the five years that have passed since Halliday’s death although many people have dedicated their lives to studying his pop culture favourites in the hope of

Really enjoyed this book, I got off to a slow start, only reading maybe 50 pages in over a month but once the pace picked up I actually devoured the rest of it in less than 2 days.

The geeky references are a joy and the story itself is exciting and fun with a lot of personality. The characters are brilliant especially when you compare those that you see both in the virtual world and IRL. There's a lot of world building but you don't find yourself trawling through pages of description.

I'm just
