I'm not sure why this book was compared to Gone Girl. It wasn't the sharp, twisting mystery that I expected. It was an interesting read nonetheless.
TifAni, aka Ani isn't the "warm and fuzzy" nice girl from most books. She definitely has her issues, and once you read the story, you sort of understand how/why she became the person that she is.

I can’t begin to imagine how this totally insipid book became a best seller. I guess you just have to know people in high places.

I feel like I have been lied to, by whom I’m not sure. This book was on my TBR for a long time and I had the time to give it a listen.

Ani Fanelli was not a sympathetic character. She survived a traumatic event in high school but her survival was polarizing to her community. Ani reinvented herself but she was shallow and deceitful. The woman needed THERAPY. The Luckiest Girl Alive didn’t seem that lucky to me.

I would not have EVER read this book had I known what is was about. I feel like there was not enough of a disclosure as to what is was about it....
It was good.
