I wish I could write... anything... more than this right now, but nothing I could write in the amount of time I have atm (less than 30 seconds now ahhh) could ever do this justice. RTC

4 stars!

Wow okay so that was a wild ride and I think I barely registered all the things that were happening all the time. SO MUCH stuff happens in the span of like 150 pages m, it was crazy!

Lou is a Witch. Reid is a Witch Hunter, more or less. So when they’re suddenly in a nasty predicament and the only way to get out of it is for them to get married, it quickly becomes clear to Lou that she is now in the wolf’s mouth and needs to be very very careful.

I loved loved the characters in this! Lou

Ho hum hum.

This book has a LOT of things going for it, a lot of positive things.

However, there are some smaller things that... drag it down so to speak. One, the world building is lacking. Is the France? Is this alternate history France? Two, blood magic and ... spell magic? Like, where is the creation myth behind this? Every time people come up with some sort of 'guide to power', there has to be a creation myth. This story did not have one so to speak, and parterning with issue one, I couldn't

“Wicked are the ways of women—and especially a witch. Their guile knows no bounds.”

3.5 stars.

There was a huge hype around this book and of course I got dragged into it. I think 90% of me bought it and got interested because of the beautiful cover. However, as soon as I started reading I got slightly bored. At first I did not really cared about the characters, at to be honest I barely care about them still.

First of all, I did like the fantasy setting and the witch hunt thing in this world. I al

This book was deliciously binge worthy.

Following the story of Lou, a witch, and Reid, a witch hunter -as they are forced into marriage and deal with the consequences (both positive and negative) that their union brings. It was addicting to watch as they learn who they are to each other, who they are to themselves, and in just how many ways their lives are tied.

I am a sucker for a good YA Fantasy, and this just checked every box. The world building was fantastic, I loved that this was a story abo

This book was incredible. What a cliffhanger though!! 😭😭😭

Edit: One year later, Re read before Blood and Honey. Can safely say it lived up to the re-read, except that now I have the sequel so the wait is nonexistent!!!! ❤️😍👏🏻

"You knew I was a snake when you picked me up."

This book was a great surprise! Truth is, I hadn't even considered reading it at first but as soon as I picked it up, I couldn't put it down! As I said before, fans of YA such as ACOTAR, for example, will devour this!

So what is this book about? Basically put the words "witches", "forced marriage", "ennemies-to-lovers" and "fierce protagonists" together in a bowl, mix up and add some "french-inspired" and "accurate french grammar" in there an

I can’t stop thinking about Matthias and Nina. Sorrynotsorry. Reid is literally a copy-paste of Matthias, and you can’t change my mind. At least Lou was slightly different than Nina. (If anyone here doesn’t know what I’m referencing, go read Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo and you’ll get what I mean.) other than that, it was an entertaining read but it took some time trying to get around feeling like I’m reading about characters from another story. The ending wasn’t as fun as I had ...more
