At first I thought this was going to be a fluff version of all the other high school for magic doer books, but I really enjoyed it. There was humor, mostly in the humor (Aka sarcasm) of the main character, Sophie. I actually laughed put loud very times. But, it was also a good mystery. I did figure out what was going on before Sophie did, and the climax was basically Sophie having a "duh" moment lol if you enjoyed The Summoning this would be a book match for you...similar vein of a story but tol

I really really really, wanted to like this book. I heard so many good things about it. And to be fair I did enjoy it somehow, but for some reason, just couldn't get into it. There were a lot of things that seemed half-explained, and I think it's good to leave things hanging for the next book, I just didn't really believe how the author approached all of the climatic events.
I will continue to read the series, because I'm interested to see what Hawkins takes us. I'm interested to s ...more
