2021:
So that's the 3rd read.
It still deserve more than 5 stars
It's still fantastic and honestly even more so.
I don't know if it is just me but this 3rd time around it hit differently, but a good different. And those final moments hit me so much harder. I felt it, I could see it and I am so happy that I'm planning on diving into The Great Hunt very soon. That's why I read this again, because I never move on in series or I take years in between but not this year. This is the year of the series.

I first started reading this while on a Fantasy kick...then I realized how large the book was. Despite the amount of time it took me to finish this book I really enjoyed it. Truly an epic fantasy. Those who has read (or watched) The Lord of the Rings will see similarities but the story is different and refreshing to those who need something as large as Middle Earth

When I first read this in the 90s I'm pretty sure I enjoyed it much more than this time around. With the new TV series out, I'm going to try one last time to complete it - I've never actually been able to finish the final 3 Sanderson books, mainly due to lack of interest, I think.
This book meanders & plods along, building a broken world populated by the usual characters. The heroes are mostly young, teenagers I think, & rather boring for the most part. I quite like Rand but I look forward to him ...more
