I've watched the movie, so I thought I'd look up the novel. It was the same story with Harry Potter and Twilight, though I looked up the series as soon as the first part is released as a film so I don't get lost in the sequels like most non-fans and non-readers do.
I'm not a twihard but I'm definitely a Rowland flag bearer, so I thought I'd have a look at this novel. Collins weaves a fantastic plot and mixes in the danger, the romance and the adventure.

Awesome! I have read this novel before, e-book version. It was so good that I decided to buy the paperback. I have lots of novels with young girl as the main character, but most of them are not strong characters. Surely they are lovable, but also annoying. Katniss is different. She is a kick-ass girl, an independent young girl, who takes care of her family since her dad passed away years ago.
I tend to love the male characters more, but for this awesome novel, I love Katniss and Peeta both. I do ...more

This book? OH MY GOD AMAZING! I mean, yes, it does have descriptions of some kids killing each other, but the plot is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I read it through Katniss's eyes and got to see each thing happen. I loved it. I loved reading about her with Peeta. Loved reading how she was with Prim and Gale and Haymitch.
