I really wish that Katniss had a girl friend here, someone she could talk to I almost thought that that was going to be Prim or Cinna or Rue or Madge Undersee (who gave Katniss her mocking-jay pin) but no, in this she learns that just because she won, doesn't mean she will be the hero.

She stands for the most part alone; and against President Snow - who is both fantastically creepy, and very in control (except where it's slipping and he knows it, doesn't like it, but can't do anything about it -

I just read The Hunger Games two days before and now finally done with Catching Fire. I'm on a mission to read all the books I've got been pending in my pc, so Im pretty proud of myself finishing two novels in four days. I'm not entirely sure how to review this without giving too much away but here goes.

Katniss and Peeta won the Hunger Games and should go back to District 12 as winners and live better lives, as winners before them. But not! Capitol, especially President Snow hated Katniss for her act in the last part of the game. They were sent back to a worse kind of Hunger Games, with all the previous winners, with a totally different and confusing arena.

Thinking that she owed Peeta her life, Katniss had a sole plan to do, to save Peeta, even if she had to sacrifice her life to that. She had

good action, face paced after half the book. although the love triangle is a bit aggravating and Peeta isn't "man" enough for my taste since Katniss always has to save him. But, overall good book/series ...more

All and all, Catching Fire satisfies the curiosity that the reader was left with in The Hunger Games. It is not as quick as a read as THG, and I found it boring at times. The pace does start to pick up at the end of Part II, and by the end of the novel, I was intrigued enough to want to finish the series.

I cried. Cried. I loved it so much though. You grow attached to the characters. it's weird.
September 16, 2013: it still made me cry but it's such a good book.
