I received this book as a preview copy in return for a review, so here is my review. This book is Lovecraftian and that might be all I need to say about it. Without giving away too much, "Red Equinox" is set in the not-to-distant future where things all come together to allow the Old Ones to re-enter our world. I have started and not finished this book twice before this attempt when I finally finished it. It's not so much that it has a slow start as it is that one of the main (? not THE main) characters is like, you know when you play an RPG and there's some dude who has made his character into "army guy" and kinda takes over and changes the tone and narrative into some kind of procedural TV version of Rambo? This book has a character like that, and early on there's a lot of him and that type of action

I liked this a lot more than I thought I was going to, but I read it so long ago (I'm writing this 3 years later) that I can't say anything more detailed than that. Sorry!
