This was a great one for audiobook format - it gives you a little something extra considering the reality tv aspect.
Overall, I liked the story a lot, but felt the main character needed more likable aspects to help us want Zoo to get through obstacles, including those self-created.
The premise for this story is just such a fun idea that I'm sad it's over. I wouldn't mind reading more stories from other characters in the same situation. ...more

An absorbing tale. Great details. I loved the blur of "reality" and reality. I fervently wish that the book didn't start out with the giant reveal about the condition of the world outside the game. That would have given the "unreliable narrator" mechanism time to develop. Additionally, I could see another ending for this book that I would have liked better, because the "surprise twist" at the end seemed to neatly resolve the problems in a way that felt canned. 3.5 stars. The premise was amazing. I enjoyed the POV flip between the reality show filming and the main character. I could have done without the crisis of "omg I'm so selfish because i haven't had a baby yet." If that was omitted for a more reasonable freakout during a pandemic, this would have been a solid 4.5 star book.
