First things first: This is not better than World War Z.
It is a decent, entertaining read and I agree with the author's foreword: I too was looking for the next great read in this vein because I simply couldn't get enough of it. So I am really happy that Taylor decided to go play in that kind of world.
But this is nothing more than a competent imitation. The vignettes are noticeably shorter in this version and while Taylor tries to end them in the same way Brooks did - there's just that oomph mis ...more
