4 1/2 stars, rounded up of course. Unwholly is not quite as spectacular as Unwind, but partly that is because the bleak dystopian world of unwinding had already been introduced. Thus, the shock value of a society that promotes organ harvesting of unwanted or rebellious teens is not as impactful as it was in the first book. Neal Shusterman is my very favorite young adult author. He has a unique skill in being able to introduce multiple characters, who all carry the weight of a main character, and manages to imbue his secondary characters with a real breath of life as well. The story of Unwind continues, in even more risk and heroism, and an end in sight for this grim future.

Enjoyed it almost as much as Unwind. Can't WAIT for the next book.
