This book started off great! I was loving it so much. Lots of laugh out moments. Shit turd, ST for short, is a crow who belongs to a man and slowly witnesses the end of humankind. He sets out with Dennis, his owners dog, to fix the world and along the way meets loads of all
Kinds of animals. Great premise !!! But….

What started out as a good set up, funny dialogue even if you’re mostly in ST’s head, soon becomes tiresome. Many of the encounters along the way become long winded and either rambling

This book almost defies description. So many emotions are in play and the writing is FANTASTIC. It's not for everyone and the reader needs to suspend rational beliefs and just enjoy the story. The crow, who is the narrator, is a foul-mouthed arrogant character you come to love. Heartwarming, hilarious, at times heart breaking, thought provoking, a very unique novel, a pleasure to read! ...more

I enjoyed this book. I liked the characters, particularly S. T., even if it did have stereotypes of dogs and cats.

The events near the end struck me as a stretch and implausible....but then I got thinking..."this is an apocalyptic zombie novel so what is plausible!" Once I reached that understanding the final sequences made more sense!. (You will understand when you read it. Think evolution.) I have learn

3 stars because I'm the target audience for a book (mostly) narrated by a crow. A little heavy-handed with the messages towards the end. Plot was a bit confused at times and seemed to stall out only to sputter a few more action scenes that (kind of?) brought some ideas together. No real big arc to the story, though it appeared like there would be one several times, and that was frustrating. Perhaps this would have been better as a short story. If you've ever lived in Seattle, you'll be able to e ...more
