Post-apocalyptic, Dystopian, SciFi. Oh my!
Ecclesia is a fresh take on the classic blend of Dystopian/Speculative, SciFi, and Political fiction. Add in a subterranean environment, a couple of real world issues, and a dash of philosophical/ethical exploration, and we’re off to the races!
Camden, the antagonist, awakes from a doozie of a nightmare to find himself thrust into an underground survival complex known as Underearth. In this new world, Camden comes to see the authoritarian rulings, intense structure, and overwhelming disorientation in which this society is forced to operate. Equipped with a weapon so simple that it could have just as easily gone unnoticed, Camden is rock the fragile system of Underearth.
This book is the first of a three-book series, and is worthy of this group’s consideration for three reasons:
1. Apocalyptic, Apocalyptic, and Apocalyptic.
2. Engaging and unique characters that draw in readers.
3. A vast array of topics that allow for a lot of good, healthy literary discussions!
