I didn’t love this book but I liked it a lot and enjoyed it for the most part. Took me a bit longer than I thought it would. The comparisons to the The Stand and Swan Song is overrated. Those are at the top of their game end of world books and I don’t feel this one comes close. The only similarity is the length. In this case, too long. Oh my goodness. What an incredible book! I listened to it on audio, which took an astonishing 32 hours, narrated very well by Dominic Hoffman and Xe Sands.

Some people have compared this book to The Stand. In fact, the author mentions Stephen King in the book as part of the plot. Clearly, this was inpsired by Stand and The Long Walk.

But the liner notes would have you believe that this is the "next" Stand. It is not. It is enjoyable in itself, if you dont read the liner notes. It is very clearly King-derived.
