I bought The Enemy as I like Charlie Higson but hadn’t realised it was a YA book. That said, it’s not bad, just lacking in a little sophistication you’d expect from a book aimed at adults. Then again, I’ve read plenty of adult books that have a darned sight less sophistication than The Enemy!

Very good book. The plot has been done before -- I read a very similar book that was also set in England -- where adults all go insane and try to kill all children under 16.
It's better than that other one (name escapes me) and looks like it's the start of a new series. Excited. Yeah kids get picked off left and right, but the author fleshes out the characters enough that the deaths actually mean something and you care and root for the children.

Wow! Plenty of action in every scene. While I enjoyed this book, it is not for the squeamish it faint of heart. It's dark and brutal, more so that the Hunger Games. When you have only kids surviving in a world full of man eating adult zombies there are bound to many dad deaths of children.
